Our privacy approach
Pettus Automotive uses personal information to operate and secure the website, provide requested shopping and dealership services, route an inquiry to the appropriate location and remember privacy choices. We measure website visit and interaction events through Google Analytics when the disclosed analytics setting is active, and review reports in aggregate. For United States visitors, we also use Google Ads measurement under a disclosed notice and opt-out setting to understand which ads lead to website inquiries. This can involve ad click identifiers. Advertising partner tags require a separate affirmative choice; this site denies ad personalization by default.
Categories collected in the preceding 12 months
The categories below describe first-party PettusAuto website records during the preceding 12 months. They use California’s personal-information category names. Provider-hosted retail tools collect directly under their own notices and may later deliver application information to a selected Pettus dealership.
| California category and examples | Sources | Business purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Identifiers: name, email, phone, IP address, online and ad click identifiers, and pseudonymous request references | You, your browser or device, Pettus website forms, and connected request providers | Deliver and secure the site, route and respond to requests, remember choices, and measure ad-attributed inquiries when allowed. |
| California customer-records personal information: name and phone number in website request records | You when you use a Pettus website form | Respond to your request and document dealership follow-up. |
| Commercial information: vehicle interest, selected dealership, trade details, and requested products or services | Your browsing and form selections, the inventory feed, and providers used for a request | Show relevant inventory, process appraisals and inquiries, and connect shoppers with the right dealership. |
| Internet or other electronic network activity information: pages, referrals, device and interaction events, timestamps, and privacy choices | Your browser or device, website security tools, and analytics when active | Operate and protect the site, honor privacy choices, understand website use, and attribute advertising. |
| Geolocation data: approximate region inferred from a network connection | Your browser or device and the network information available to the site | Apply the appropriate privacy mode, protect requests, and report broad geography. |
| Professional or employment-related information: position interest, work history, skills, and optional résumé or message | You when you use a Pettus careers contact form | Evaluate and respond to employment inquiries and document hiring decisions. |
| Audio, electronic, visual, thermal, olfactory, or similar information: electronic form messages and uploaded résumé files when supplied | You when you use a Pettus website form | Deliver and respond to your request or employment inquiry. |
| Inferences: likely vehicle interests drawn from pages and inventory interactions | Website interaction events when optional measurement is active | Understand demand for vehicles and evaluate inventory advertising. |
Information we collect
Website and device information
- IP address, browser and device type, referring page, requested URL, timestamps, approximate region, and security events.
- A privacy-choice record containing selected cookie categories, Global Privacy Control status, policy version, and choice time.
- When analytics is active, page views, broad traffic source, device information, inventory filters, vehicle interactions, and similar usage events. Pettus does not intentionally include names, phone numbers, email addresses, application fields, or free-form messages in its custom GA4 events. Automatic pageview URLs are treated separately from those custom event fields.
- When Google Ads measurement is active, ad click identifiers and limited campaign information may be used to attribute website inquiries to ads. Pettus does not intentionally include names, contact details, free-form messages, or credit application fields in its custom Google Analytics conversion events.
Information you provide through retail tools
- TradePending may collect vehicle details, appraisal answers, contact details, communications preferences, and other information shown in its valuation flow.
- Capital One receives the vehicle VIN, displayed price, and image URL from eligible inventory pages and collects any information you choose to provide in its Auto Navigator experience.
- RouteOne may collect identifiers and contact details, date of birth, address, residence, employment, income, vehicle information, co-applicant information, and other credit-application data displayed in the secure form. This may include sensitive personal information needed to process a credit application.
- Xtime may collect contact details, vehicle information, requested maintenance or repair details, appointment preferences, and other information shown in its service-scheduling flow.
Information you provide through direct forms
- Shopper inquiry forms may collect name, email, phone number, selected dealership, vehicle interest, and the message you provide.
- The careers contact form may collect name, email, phone number, preferred Pettus location, position or career interest, your message, and an optional PDF or DOCX résumé.
- The community support request form may collect organization and contact details, event or initiative information, requested support, Sales or Service customer relationship, prior Pettus sponsorship history, and the links and messages you provide.
Administrator information
Authorized website administrators may provide account identity details through protected sign-in. Administrative changes, feed runs, inventory removal events, and routing diagnostics are recorded for security and operational accountability.

Disclosure, sale, and sharing
We may disclose website-form information to the Pettus dealership selected by the shopper; vendors that host, secure, measure, or support this website; dealership CRM providers; recruiting and email-delivery providers; and others needed to fulfill that request. TradePending, Capital One, RouteOne, and Xtime may collect additional information directly in their own experiences. Those companies may process information under Pettus agreements, their own consumer terms, or both.
Some ad measurement and data sharing can fall within state-law sale or sharing definitions even when no money changes hands. For United States requests, analytics and Google Ads measurement are active under the disclosed notice-and-opt-out setting unless this browser previously opted out. Google Ads measurement may share ad click identifiers and conversion events with Google for attribution. This site denies ad personalization and keeps advertising partner tags off by default; partner tags require an affirmative choice. When this browser sends Global Privacy Control, this site turns off optional Google Analytics, Google Ads measurement, ad click storage, and advertising partner tags. For other or unknown countries, analytics and Google Ads measurement require an affirmative choice. Functional retail tools may use provider-controlled cookies or storage when their pages or widgets load; see the Cookie Policy and the notices inside each tool.
Pettus website-form contents are submitted to Pettus for the requested service and are not intentionally included in our custom Google events. If an eligible paid visitor calls a Google forwarding number, Google Ads may receive the caller phone number when available, call time, duration, area code, and status for attribution and reporting.
The Pettus Google Analytics property is linked to Google Ads accounts. Google products and services sharing, and some linked Ads accounts’ personalized-advertising settings, are enabled at the account level. This website sends a denied ad-personalization signal even when its separate Meta partner choice is allowed. Those account settings are distinct from this browser’s choice; opting out stops this website’s future optional analytics, ad measurement, and partner tags for this browser. Google may analyze GA4 data shared through the account setting to improve its own products and services under its terms, beyond Pettus ad attribution. The site-level choice does not erase data already sent.
We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
Categories sold or shared in the preceding 12 months
For California disclosures, Pettus conservatively treats the optional measurement and advertising flows below as sale or sharing. During the preceding 12 months, an earlier advertising measurement partner received a vehicle-page URL and pseudonymous identifiers after an advertising choice. That partner's tag no longer loads on this website. The historical online-identifier and page-activity categories remain in the table. A direct opt-out or GPC signal stops future optional tag requests from this site.
| Category | Recipient category | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Online identifiers, including IP, cookies, ad click IDs, and pseudonymous submission references | Google Analytics and linked Google Ads accounts; an earlier advertising measurement partner; Meta pixel on eligible tire-special pages after a separate choice | Measure visits and ad-attributed inquiries; support the disclosed Google products and services sharing setting. |
| Vehicle browsing and commercial interest, including viewed VIN, stock, price, selected store, and request type | Google Analytics and linked Google Ads accounts | Measure inventory engagement and campaign results. |
| Internet browsing and ad activity, including pages, referrals, interactions, and limited form-event metadata | Google Analytics and linked Google Ads accounts; an earlier advertising measurement partner; Meta pixel for eligible tire-special page visits after a separate choice | Understand website use, measure partner advertising, and attribute campaigns. |
| Eligible website-call identifiers and details, including caller number when available, start time, duration, area code, and status | Google Ads website-call measurement for eligible paid visits | Attribute calls to the correct campaign, store, and Ads account. |
| Approximate location and inferred vehicle interest | Google Analytics and linked Google Ads accounts; Meta pixel for eligible tire-special page visits after a separate choice | Report broad geography and vehicle or service interests in optional measurement. |
| Privacy choice state in Google Consent Mode | Enforce consent restrictions for optional measurement requests. |
Pettus does not intentionally put shopper contact details, résumé contents, or credit-application fields in custom GA4 events. The separately allowed Meta tire-special pixel receives a page event; this site does not intentionally send website-form contact fields to it. Google may also use shared Analytics data to improve its own products and services under the enabled account setting.
Categories disclosed for a business purpose in the preceding 12 months
For requests sent through Pettus website forms, Pettus disclosed identifiers and contact details, selected vehicle and request information, internet activity, approximate region, and privacy choices to website hosting, security, CRM, communications, and dealership service providers or contractors as needed to operate the site, protect requests, remember choices, and deliver inquiries. Career messages and résumé contents were disclosed to recruiting and communications providers and the intended Pettus reviewers to evaluate applications. TradePending, Capital One, RouteOne, and Xtime may collect additional appraisal, finance, credit, or service fields directly within their own experiences and provide their own notices. This website does not copy RouteOne application fields into its own database.
